Shinoki Cultural
Complex had Kanazawa Butsudan (Buddhist alter) exhibition, when I went there.
It’s near
Kenrokuen and Kanazawa castle, so you can see stone walls and trees of the
castle from it.
This building has
exhibition rooms, and you can appreciate high- quality exhibitions there. As most
of them are free, I usually go there without any intention just after walking around
there.
Kanazawa Butsudan
is much gorgeous comparing with Butsudan in other areas. It’s made using Ishikawa’s traditional crafts:
gold leaf craftwork, lacquering, carving, mother- of -pearl decoration and so on.
Recently, modern designed
Butsudan has made , but it also uses traditional craft.
People in Hokuriku
have been very devout Buddhists, so they spend lots of money to their important
alters.
